Loyalfans: How did you start in the business, and is it different from what you expected?
Jessica Sage: Initially I started out doing live cam. I did that exclusively for about a year and half and then I realized I really needed a source of passive income and started expanding into other things, like clips and fanclubs.
The industry as a whole is actually a lot different than I expected. I didn’t realize how much of a supportive community there was, not just amongst other creators but with fans as well.
We all know that being an online content creator is a 24/7 job. How do you keep up with the workflow and demands of today’s industry?
It’s certainly overwhelming being online because a lot of people feel like you’re at their disposal 24/7, when that’s simply not realistic. I have an insanely busy life, and it gets difficult balancing it all, at times, but what helps me the most is planning ahead.
I try to stay ahead and have plenty of content scheduled out so that when I need time off or am unable to be active, I still have content going out and I don’t need to stress about posting or creating new things.
What are some other things people think are easy about your job but are actually really challenging?
People seem to think this job is so easy, all you do is take photos/videos and post it and bam you’re making tons of money. I don’t think people have any idea the amount of time and effort it actually takes and how the money just doesn’t fall into our laps.
The amount of hours that are needed to not just make content, edit it, and upload it, but to actually market it and get people to spend their money on you is a lot, especially when there is so much free porn out there these days.
What is one work goal you have your eyes on currently?
I don’t feel like I have one big goal, I just would really like to get to the point where my income is consistent/steady every month. This may sound silly, but I’d love to be the breadwinner and allow my husband the ability to quit his job or pursue something else if he wanted and not have to worry about paying the bills.
What’s your favorite feature on Loyalfans?
One thing I absolutely love about Loyalfans is the flexibility with posts.
I love that I can post things for the public, for just my followers, or just my subscribers. I also like that I’m able to put a price on posts for non-subscribers. Sometimes people aren’t sure if they should subscribe or just don’t like buying subscriptions, so the ability to unlock what they want is awesome.
In terms of gear, what do you think are the most useful things to have when you’re very first starting out?
You absolutely do not need the best equipment, especially just starting out. Truthfully, as long as you have a good phone you should be able to do the majority of your work from there. Pictures, uploading, and even editing can all be done from your phone.
Who is your peer mentor, inspiration, or someone you just admire or respect in the industry?
This is tough because there are so many people who inspire me and who I really respect/admire, but someone who really stands out to me in this industry is Amberly Rothfield. I love how many people they help, how selfless they are, and how they’re always there for people.
I really love helping others, especially other creators, and I really admire how much they give back to this industry
Working from home can sometimes feel isolating. What do you do to help stave off feelings of loneliness or isolation?
I actually love being alone, but when I do need some interaction I will usually just do things with my family or hang out with some friends. If not, the next best thing is just talking on the phone with my friends.
What’s your go-to selfcare activity or down time ritual of choice?
I don’t feel like I have many hobbies, but something I really love doing is reading. I love just being taken into this whole different world and being taken into the story. If it wasn’t that I had a life and needed sleep, I could just sit and read all day!
At the end of the day, depending how I feel I will either read a book or just scroll through TikTok. Sometimes I love diving into a good book, but I just dont have the brainpower to do that so instead I’ll just watch TikToks.
